MacBook Running Slow
Fixing a slow MacBook can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to improve its performance:
1. Close Unnecessary Apps and Tabs: Make sure to close any apps and browser tabs that you're not using1. This can free up system resources.
2. Check for Software Updates: Ensure your Google Chrome is up to date. Updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes.
3. Free Up Disk Space: Delete unnecessary files and move large files to the cloud storage. We are cloud based so we should not be saving anything locally on the computer.
4. Use Activity Monitor: Open Activity Monitor (found in Applications > Utilities) to see which apps and processes are using the most CPU and memory1. Quit any that are not needed.
5. Reset SMC and NVRAM/PRAM: Sometimes resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and NVRAM/PRAM can help resolve performance issues.
6. Clean Up Browser Data: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, and disable any unnecessary extensions.
